Vintage Hand Painted Nippon Porcelain Salt Cellars
Item Details
A collection of five of vintage hand painted porcelain salt cellars by Nippon. Featured is a set of three matching cellars featuring shallow bowls atop scalloped bases with a yellow rose motif and green and gold trim. The undersides are marked in blue ‘Hand Painted Nippon’ with a rising sun mark. Also included is a footed cellar featuring a sailboat motif to the interior with a navy band and raised gilt beaded trim. The underside is marked in green ‘Hand Painted Nippon’ with an ‘M’ in a wreath for the importer Morimura Bros. Both marks were first used in 1911. A small cellar featuring a multi-colored floral motif and three ball feet completes the collection.
