An offset lithograph after an oil painting by Robert Griffing, titled On The Great Trail. Griffing (American, b.1940), turned to painting after thirty years in advertising, with a continuous fascination for 18th century Eastern Woodland Native American life. This print of an original 1994 painting depicts a beautiful sun dappled forest and stream along the The Great Trail, running from Fort Detroit to Fort Pitt. It is print signed to the lower right with date, and signed by hand in the plate to the lower left. The art is presented under non-glare glass in a dark stained composite frame with triple mats.
