Vintage Hand Carved Gaucho Commemorative Figurine

A vintage hand carved figurine of an Argentinian Goucho presented as an award to John W. Price. The figure was carved in mahogany by A. Bernhauser in 1933 and is signed and dated to the bottom. The front of the base is carved and reads ‘Gaucho Rio Grande Do Sul’. There is an applied metal plaque which is translated as reading ‘Faculty of the P.A.C. offers to mister John W. Price, in proofof friendship this souvenir of his land, where he worked 39 years for the cause of God among men’.
