A lovely group of traditional hand carved shorebird decoys by Will Kirkpatrick of Hudson Massachusetts A prolific artist he uses techniques the same as 1800’s master decoy makers, and has reproduced famous classics, adaptations and stylistic adaptations based on regional styles. This lot includes:

  • #75 Crowell Yellowlegs – 13’ long
  • #37 Nichols Feeder – 12 3/4’ long with glass eyes
  • #9 Folger Eskimo Culew – 12 3/4’ long with carved wing, and glass eyes
  • #81 Audubon Yellowlegs – Kirkpatrick used Audubon’s famous ‘Birds of America’ to inspire the creation of this decoy
  • #316 Greater Yellowlegs
  • #315 Audubon Piping Plover
    Many of these pieces are now retired from production as Mr. Kirkpatrick has decided to recently retire.

- some of birds are loose on their bases.
