An oil painting on board of a figural interior scene by listed American artist Howard Buck (20th Century), created in 1946. Portrayed with loose expressionistic brushstrokes, this work features a a male figure sound asleep in a modest bedroom space. The painting is signed and dated to the lower right. It is presented in a bronze-tone gesso frame with an abstract decorative pattern and a gold-tone sight edge.
Condition
- small spots of paint loss and abrasion present along right edge of composition; some wear to frame includes scratches, stains, and finish loss scattered throughout.
