An oil painting on canvas of a countryside landscape by J. Kinard. Rendered with impeccable detail, this work features a grassy wheat field populated with a haystacks and a small cottage with a windmill; minuscule farmers harvest in the middle-ground while some some minuscule farm animals are visible grazing in the distance. The painting is signed ‘J. Kinard’ to the lower right. It is presented in an antique Louis XV style gilt and gesso frame. To the lower edge of the frame is a metal plate engraved with the artist’s name.
Condition
- small white stains present in left central area of composition; minor accretion spots and dust scattered throughout painting; some craquelure throughout painting; large chip to right edge of frame gesso; small cracks, scratches, stains, and finish loss scattered throughout frame; larger cracks present at corners of frame.
