A Chinese Qing (1736-1796) Jesuit Ware export porcelain teapoy in grisaille decoration to illustrate the goddess Diana wielding a spear with her dog leaping at her feet. The foliate border at the shoulder encompasses two cartouche with deer and boar while the open scrolled decoration to the base is applied. Jesuit Ware subject matter was brought to China by Jesuit missionaries.
