George III Style Floral-Painted Secretariat Cabinet

Item Details

A George III style floral-painted secretariat cabinet. The cabinet has an concave crown with seashell crest to the center, paneled double doors in an arched design with elongated brass escutcheons. The doors open to a lighted interior space with two adjustable wooden shelves and storage compartment with four drawers and two open cubbies. The inside surfaces of the doors are painted with draped swags with vines. The base has an angled floral-painted door with pull-out support brackets, which opens to a writing surface with open cubbies and drawers. Below are two drawers with floral painted fronts and scrollwork pulls. The base has curved pilaster corners, a beveled base with chamfered corners and scrolled front feet.
