1960s Reds Souvenir Items

A pair of 1960s Cincinnati Reds souvenir items. The Reds plastic bank was sponsored by Security Savings & Loan Co. that was located on Winton Road in Cincinnati, Ohio. The pre-1963 ball has facsimile signatures in blue and the baseball’s red stitching is raised. The facsimile signatures included: Fred Hutchinson, Don Blasingame, Bob Purkey, Gus Bell, Frank Robinson, Wally Post, Eddie Kasko, Joe Jay, Gene Freese and Vada Pinson. ‘REDS’ is in blue under Fred’s facsimile signature. There is a 1967 picture ruler. There are thirty-one black-and-white headshots with the player’s last name under their image. Players like Vada Pinson, Gary Nolan, Lee May, Jim Maloney, Tommy Harper and Leo Cardenas are on this ruler.

Condition

- some of the blue coloring on the signatures has worn off
- ruler has wear and a chip out of the plastic
- old worn off notation on the ball bank under Bob Purkey’s facsimile signature
- ruler: owner’s name printed in black marker on the far end of the ruler
