Gorham Sterling Silver Dish with Watson Co. Sterling Rimmed Glass Plate

A pairing of dishes. This includes a dish by Gorham that features a flat-bottomed well with curved sides and a wide sloped lip with linear and foliate raised design. The underside is marked ‘Gorham’ above ‘Sterling 3341’ and the Durgin ‘D’ mark, which Gorham used through c.1940 after it merged with William B. Durgin Co. in 1931. It is presented with a glass plate by Watson Co. that has a cut designed underside and an openwork sterling rim. The underside is marked with the maker’s mark alongside ‘Sterling 5958’. The approximate weight of the Gorham dish is 3.755 ozt.

Condition

- good to fair; minor to moderate surface wear including marks, scratches, and minimal to overall tarnishing; the silver rim on the plate has overall tarnishing.
