Item Details
A gouache painting on board of an American Western landscape by listed American artist Ralph Arthur Lyle (1882-1959). Portrayed with a pastel palette, this work features a landscape populated with cacti and grassy plains; a prominent tree with orange and yellow leaves is present to the left foreground, and mountains are silhouetted against a cloudy sky in the background. The painting is signed to the lower right. It is presented under glass, double-matted with a beige linen mat and a gold-tone mat; it is housed in a gilt gesso frame with scrolling foliate moulding.
