E. Schiebold 1940 Oil Painting on Canvas Board of Alpine Landscape
Item Details
A 1940 oil painting on canvas board by artist E. Schiebold. The piece depicts an alpine landscape with majestic peaks rising above a grassy valley accented with small brown buildings, green trees and vegetation and a glassy blue stream. The work is signed in black paint to the lower left and additionally signed and dated to the board backing. It is presented without glass in a wooden frame with moulded embellishments, with two D-ring hooks mounted to the verso.
Condition
- accretion, surface wear, discoloration and craquelure throughout painting; abrasions, scratches, dust and wear throughout frame with large chips to moulding at edges.
