Item Details
An oil painting on canvas of a thoroughbred titled Hanover by listed artist T. F. Emmons, created in 1902. This painting depicts a champion horse posing against a grassy landscape. It is signed and dated to its lower left, and is presented in a gold-toned wooden and gesso frame with foliate moulding without glass.
Condition
- heavy wear to frame, with are multiple pieces of gesso and wood missing; cracks and crazing throughout painting; heavy repairs with puncture visible to verso, inpainting to surface of work, and extreme craquelure throughout; toning, dirt, and residue to surface of artwork, particularly upper right; foxing present.
