Michael Simon Art Pottery Bowl

Item Details

A thrown and salt fired stoneware bowl by American ceramicist Michael Simon. The bowl features a stylized hand painted black bird in black and white to the interior and a warm earth tone glaze to the outside. It is signed with ‘MS’ to the outside foot.

Simon (American) was a student of listed ceramic artist Warren MacKenzie, and received an MFA degree from the University of Georgia. His work is held and exhibited at the Los Angeles County Museum, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and is in The Roger Corsaw Collection of Ceramic Art at Alfred University.
