A finely hand-knotted Chinese carved wool area rug. This unique rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, camel, sky blue, azure, rust, terracotta, gold, and mocha. The ivory colored field features a sculpted large central medallion of floral patterns that coordinates with the spandrels, along with an array of vase and urn motifs. Framing the field is a fret patterned guard border with a main stylized fret and floral meander border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
