Antique George III Inlaid Mahogany Sideboard, Circa Early 19th Century

An antique George III inlaid mahogany sideboard, circa early 19th century. The solid and veneered case features a rectangular top with a projecting center flanked by excurvate, front corners. Directly below is a dovetailed, frieze drawer with oak linings bordered by a blind, two-shelf cabinet on the left and a cellarette drawer on the right. The fronts are fitted with brass medallion, ring pulls and inlaid with satinwood banding and holly stringing. The sideboard rises on six turned and reeded legs ending in blunt feet.

Condition

- to fair; top with some scratches and marks; age split to front of cellarette drawer; small veneer/inlay cracks, repairs, and losses scattered throughout; pulls possibly replaced; other wear and imperfections as would be expected with age and use.
