An antique George III mahogany commode chair, circa late 18th to early 19th century. The frame features a shaped crest above a pierced, vasiform splat flanked by open, outscrolled arms. The hinged, trapezoidal seat cover lifts up to reveal a conforming, removable seat with a circular cutout concealed by a deep, scrolled apron. The chair rises on square legs.

- to fair; scattered surface wear, including scratches and marks; wear and fading to finish, mostly to arms; some former pest damage (worming); chip to top left corner of front seat rail below seat cover; some rust to hinges; back splat missing molding strips along lower edge; underside with some missing glue blocks; chamber pot is NOT included.
