Antique Louis XIII Style Oak Side Chairs, Circa Third Quarter 19th Century

A pair of antique Louis XIII style oak side chairs, circa third quarter of the 19th century. The frames feature pierced, leaf-carved crests above slatted backs centered by pierced, foliate splats. The barley-twist stiles have rosette top blocks with turned finials and they continue to foliate-carved and molded, plank seats. The chairs rise on block-and-turned legs joined by barley-twist stretchers and ending in toupie feet.

Condition
- some minor surface wear as would be expected with age and use; one chair with a broken joint where the crest meets the proper right stile, as a result the back slats and splat are a little loose; same chair with a separation between seat boards.
