An antique wood coffee grinder with European landscape scenes by Robert Zassenhaus, circa early 20th century. The wooden, box-form case features a scallop-edged top centered by a brass hopper with a pierced and scrolled, iron handle. The tin side panels are overlaid with printed landscape scenes of castles while the front has a single drawer with a porcelain knob. The coffee grinder rises on bun feet. The crank handle is incised with a mark appearing to read ‘R.Z / Garant…’
Condition
- side panel overlays with tears, losses, stains, and toning; crank and mechanism with light surface rust; bottom of drawer with a small loss; crank turns but coffee grinder is otherwise untested.
