A polychrome incised pottery jar by Santa Clara Pueblo artist Delores Curran (b. 1954). This classic water jug shape redware pottery features an intricately carved and precisely painted design. It includes a polished rim and carved rain cloud design just below, as well as along the base. There is also a band of painted feathers with a carved avanyu symbol below. The redware jar is signed ‘Delores Curran, Santa Clara Pueblo.’ Curran’s work is mostly in the Santa Clara ‘cream on red’ style.
