A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Peshawar style wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, indigo, sky blue, rose, ivory, camel, hunter, and sage. The deep cranberry colored field features all-over latticed and scrolling palmette, leaf, and floral motifs. Framing the field is a main elaborate herati patterned border, along with a carnation meander guard border and a herati patterned border guard border as well. Finishing this finely knotted rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
