Japanese Bizen Pottery Vase
Item Details
A Japanese Bizen pottery vase. This simply styled piece has a round, slightly flared rim over an almost cylindrical basin, with two handle nubs on the shoulders. Fired in a noborigama wood kiln with no glaze, the vase is finished in dark reddish brown and black, with mottled areas of gray. The underside is marked in Japanese characters. It comes with a wooden box, which is marked on the exterior in Japanese.

- the box has scuffs and some separation.
