1962 Adie Brothers Ltd "Lindisfarne" Sterling Silver Ashtray
Item Details
A sterling silver ashtray from 1962 by Birmingham maker Adie Brothers Ltd. This piece has a round shape, featuring a flat-bottomed well, wide plain lip with four cigarette holders, and a patterned rim inspired by the illuminations found in the medieval Lindisfarne Gospels. The underside is stamped with the maker’s mark alongside three hallmarks of an anchor for Birmingham, a lion passant for sterling, and an ‘N’ date mark for 1962. The approximate weight is 1.445 ozt.
