Antique Louis XVI Giltwood Settee

A stunning antique Louis XVI giltwood settee. The settee features a gilt finish with genuine gold leaf to the entire frame, with a richly carved curved crest rail, angled corners, whorled arms. The legs have carved rosettes to the knees, and tapered turned legs. The sofa is upholstered in a striped moire pattern, with hues of gold, blue, wine, on an ivory field. The settee has a upholstered back, seat, and plastic covered manchettes,, all trimmed in antique brass nail-head decorations. The seat and back are firm, and have the feeling of a straw or natural fiber content filling. A square metallic gold accent pillow is included. A matching piece is included with lot #17CIN662-019, and matching settee in lot #17CIN662-020.
