Antique Sewing Baskets and Box with Notions
Item Details
A pair of antique sewing baskets and a wooden sewing box, along with an assortment of older sewing notions. One basket is in a rounded shape with lid designed with an opening to allow yarn to thread through during knitting. The basket retains traces of red paint. The second basket is a flat woven wicker style with fitted lid. The wooden sewing box has an arched handle, angled top lid and a pressed medallion to the sides with a torch and ribbon design. Notions include a wooden darning ‘egg’, a carved needle case, a pink wooden darning egg, a lacquered round container with red poppy design to the lid, dark nacre or mother-of-pearl buttons, silk threads, birch bark basket, and more.
