A 19th century cased daguerreotype. The images include a young woman dressed in a black and white tattersall plaid dress with white scalloped collar. . The daguerreotype is framed in an embossed brass mat with red velvet piping, and with scrolling vine embossed red velvet panel to the opposite side of the hinged frame. The outside of the hinged cases is in an embossed dark brown gutta percha material.
