19th Century Cased Daguerreotypes

Item Details

A selection of two 19th century cased daguerreotypes. The images include a young boy and girl, the seated boy dressed in a belted jerkin with scalloped collar and hem, the girl dressed in a simple short sleeved dress with full skirt, and a solemn girl dressed in a patterned full blouse and skirt, seated on a caned rocker. The daguerreotypes are framed in embossed brass mats with both red and cobalt blue velvet piping, with embossed red and cobalt blue velvet panels to the opposite side of the hinged frame. The outside of the hinged cases is in an embossed dark brown gutta percha material.
