A sterling silver flatware set in the Marlborough pattern by Reed & Barton Silversmiths. The Marlborough pattern was first introduced in 1906, and features a plumed tip and scroll edge. The fifty-one piece set includes eight dinner forks, eight salad forks, thirteen teaspoons, two round bowl cream soup spoons, eight flat handle butter spreader knives, one solid gravy ladle, and four serving spoons, all marked “Pat. Jan. 2.1906,” embossed with the Eagle/R/Lion marks (mark style ca. 1889 – 1946), and “Sterling” to the backs. Also included are seven New French hollow handle dinner knives with sterling silver handles and mirrorstele stainless steel blades. The set is presented in a wooden flatware chest with burgundy felt-like interior lining. The total approximate weight, excluding dinner knives with stainless blades, is 52.680 ozt.
