A set of framed plate engravings on paper after works by J. M. W. Turner (1775 – 1851). This set of three, hand-colored, plate prints is from a series of steel engravings in Turner’s Rivers of France. Rouen, a view from St. Catherine’s HIll of the River Seine cutting through the city of Rouen against the background of a wide, open sky; engraved and by W. Miller, and drawn by J.M.W. Turner, R.A. Amboise, a view from the River Loire, capturing the daily activities along the river at Amboise, against the backdrop of the brilliant light of day bursting forth from behind the fortress; engraved by W.R. Smith and drawn by J.M.W. Turner, R.A. Caudebec, a view of a bend in the River Seine from the hills above Caudebec, featuring a funeral procession to the lower left corner and the sweeping landscape to the right; engraved by Ja.3 B. Allen; Drawn by J.M.W. Turner, R.A. Each framed print has a copied title page of the book in an envelope to the verso.
