Antique Victorian Renaissance Revival Walnut Dropwell Dresser

An antique Victorian Renaissance Revival walnut dropwell dresser. This American three piece white marble top dropwell dresser is made of walnut with burl walnut veneer. It features an architectural pediment with raised burl walnut veneer panels and applied turned demi-roundels over and around the frame of the rectangular mirror flanked by candle shelves at the base. Below are two marble top handkerchief boxes, the drawer fronts with raised burl veneer panels and a lower marble top in between, all over a pair of full-width drawers with knapp or scallop-and-dowel joints (in use 1871-1900), turned round escutcheon, and brass plates with ring pulls. The case rests on a raised plinth. Key not included. There are no visible maker’s marks.
