An oil portrait on canvas board of a woman by listed American artist William Gebhardt (1907-1975), created in 1943. This bust portrait features a three-quarter view of a young woman wearing an elegant high-collared white blouse. The composition is signed and dated to the lower right. It is presented a textural beige wood frame with gold-tone accents.
William Edwin Gebhardt was born in Franklin, Ohio and was known for his portraits and floral paintings. His work can be found in the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., as well as many private collections.

- 1.5-inch white scratch mark present along lower edge; minor wear to frame includes scratches and stains scattered throughout.
