An original charcoal drawing on laid paper attributed to listed 20th century artist Evelyn Levy Shaw (1921 – 2009). The drawing depicts a nude woman seated on a tall wooden stool. Her hair is braided into a crown around her head, and light glistens off of her bare skin. The piece is unsigned, but comes from a collection of the artist’s works. It is matted in black and presented behind glass in a black composite frame with a hanging wire attached to the verso.

Condition

- to fair. Paper is yellowed and slightly wrinkled with age. Small area of foxing to lower right. Pinholes to corners from previous hanging.
