19th Century Original Oil Landscape on Canvas
Item Details
A 19th century original oil landscape on canvas. The unsigned painting depicts four children and a dog in a boat filled with rushes, the children holding rakes and poles used in gathering the rushes. The boat is moored ashore a placid lake, with towering sunlit mountains to the distant, under a cloud-filled sky. The foreground is a rock-filled dirt shore with driftwood and grasses in the shallow waters. The painting is displayed in an antique gold leaf on gesso beveled frame with foliate stenciled band to the center.
Condition
good to fair, puncture to center of painting, painting antique, needs a light cleaning, minor wear to frame
