Item Details
A 19th century original oil landscape on canvas. The unsigned painting depicts two sailing boats on a placid river, under a cloud-filled blue sky, with a mountain range with snow-capped peaks to the right background, a flat shore with several trees to the right and sunlit dirt shoreline to the left, leading to a stone arch and Gothic tower on a hill overlooking the river. The boat to the foreground is moored on the shore, while the other is in midstream in the distance. The painting is displayed in an antique gold leaf on gesso beveled frame with foliate stenciled band to the center.
