World War II Japanese NCO Shin Guntō Sword in Leather Wrapped Scabbard
Item Details
A World War II era Japanese NCO shin guntō sword. The slightly curved, single-edged blade of this sword has an offset bohi groover, a bronze-toned habaki mount, and the serial number 73028 stamped along with a manufacturer’s symbol at the base of the blade. The hilt has an oval tsuba guard with a side catch, and a metal pommel with a loop to the end; the remainder of the hilt is concealed under a leather cover with an off-white cloth wrap. The sword is presented with a metal single-hanger scabbard with a leather cover extending the full length.

- minor tarnish to blade; leather scabbard beginning to unpeel and crack near top; cloth wrapping coming loose; faint smell of oil
