"Last of the Mohicans" Gilt Brass Candelabra Set

A gilt brass candelabra set based off James Fenimore Cooper’s The Last of the Mohicans. This three piece set, from 1844, includes a candelabra designed with five candlestick holders on outstretched arms decorated with swag and capped with floral halos dripping with crystals. Each arm extends from the base of a detailed depiction of Natty Bumppo, Chief Chingachgook and Unicas from The Last of the Mohicans. Also includes two figural candlestick holders depicting Major Duncan Heyward. Each is fixed to a white marble base, with the main piece marked to the back ‘Patent December 5 1844 Cornelius & Co.’

Condition

- There are extensive chips to the crystals.
