A signed etching on paper titled Nymph Lake by listed American artist Lyman Byxbe (1886-1980). This work features a picturesque view of the lake located in Rocky Mountain National Park, populated with trees, foliage, and mountains in the background. The work is signed by hand in graphite to the lower right; it is titled to the lower left. The composition is presented under glass with off-white matting, and housed in a wood frame with a medium brown finish.
Born in Illinois, Lyman Byxbe spent his career primarily in Colorado and Nebraska. He is known for his picturesque depictions of American western landscapes. His work has been collected by numerous institutions including the Art Institute of Chicago, the National Museum of American Art, the Library of Congress, among others.
