A pair of East Asian style watercolor and gouache paintings on hanging scrolls. The larger piece depicts a group of stylized people riding waves on a rice bag, clouds and lotus leaves, with a signature and inscription to the upper right of the image. The smaller piece depicts a figure walking between cliffs with buildings in the distance. It is signed and stamped to the lower left. Each piece is presented on green brocade fabric with ties for hanging.
Condition
- to fair; abrasions to center of larger painting; marks from old paperclip to lower right edge of larger scroll; one black end cap missing to larger scroll; discoloration to edges of smaller scroll; creasing throughout both scrolls; marks to verso of both scrolls.
