A pastel drawing on paper of an impressionistic landscape by Italian-American artist Francesco Spicuzza (1883-1962). Portrayed with a cool pastel palette and suppressed detail, this work features a large pond surrounded by lush foliage and trees. The work is signed ‘F. Spicuzza’ to the lower left. It is presented under glass and housed in a wood frame with a light brown finish. A label from Turner Art Gallery is present to the verso.

Born in Italy, Francesco Spicuzza was primarily based in Wisconsin. He is known for his Impressionist landscapes, figural scenes, and floral still lifes. His work has been exhibited at numerous institutions including the Art Institute of Chicago, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Milwaukee Art Institute, among others.
