Evelyn Marx Original Ink Painting on Paper "Birds in the Bushes"

An original ink painting on paper titled Birds in the Bushes by well known Cincinnati, Ohio artist Evelyn Marx (1901 – 1996). The painting depicts the faces of four woman with large eyes filling the composition. Each woman has a voluminous and fanciful hairdo, created from patterns of colored ovals, each with a bird perched within. The work is signed to the lower center, and is marked to the verso with the artist’s name, title and the medium. Presented behind a brown mat, under glass, in a silver tone metal frame. It is ready to hang with a wire.
Evelyn Marx studied at the University of Cincinnati, her works can be found in many prominent collections, including the Cincinnati Art Museum.

- toning and scattered light staining to painting. Scratches and wear to frame.
