Ceramic Military Figurines of 18th and 19th Century Officers
Item Details
A collection of ceramic military figurines of 18th and 19th century officers. The six pieces in this lot represent European and American soldiers. The one figurines that is given a title stands on a square pedestal, holding a musket; it is marked to the front edge ‘1792-97 Royal Fusiliers’. The other soldiers pose with swords; the soldier with the white sash and black boots is marked to the base ‘WF – Made in Taiwan’. The shortest piece in the lot is an American soldier, possibly from the Civil War, with binoculars. He carries one of his gloves and his broad-brimmed hat in his left hand while standing against a wagon wheel draped with a flag.
