Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Persian Abadeh Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian Abadeh wool area rug. This rug begins with a central medallion in indigo, grey, ginger, and rust on a cream background, the medallion resting on an indigo lozenge filled with tree of life and floral motifs. The lozenge, in turn, rests on a ginger-colored field, each corner of which contains a medallion. Framing the field are compound borders, including two sets of guard borders featuring diamond and clover patterns and a tree of life main border with rose medallions within diamonds. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges with applied cotton fringe. A faded and unreadable label is attached to the reverse.
