This painting depicts the vining plant against a grayish striated ground, its flowers rendered in dark purple appearing to depict the flower’s Jackmanii variety. This painting is presented without an artist’s signature and is mounted in a mottled frame with hanging wires to its verso.

- craquelure throughout the top of the image area; paint loss throughout the image area with paint separating from the canvas; heavy discoloration to verso of canvas; scratches and wear throughout frame, including corner joints that do not meet evenly.
