A hand-knotted Afghani Baluch war rug. This hand-knotted wool area rug has a color palette of burgundy, teal, midnight blue, brown, pumpkin orange, black ,and ivory. The field has design of flattened geometric helicopters, warplanes, tanks, rifles, and explosive devices. Small ‘s’ hook and tree of life motifs also pattern the field. The main border features a pattern of lobbed flowers and it is framed with zig-zag oak leaf guard borders. It has double overcast selvedges, short kilim skirts and natural warp fringe. Marked to reverse ’Hand Made in Afghanistan ’.
