A Southeast Asian wooden carving of a hand holding a disembodied head. This sculpture depicts a large hand with pointed fingernails holding a mustached, curly-haired head. The carving is unpainted, except for the pupils of the head’s open eyes, and is rendered from a pale, two-tone wood. There are no visible maker’s marks.

Condition

- minor scratches to the surface, cracks along the figure, particularly along bottom.
