Antique American Victorian Walnut Chest of Drawers with Mirror

Item Details

An antique American Victorian walnut chest of drawers with mirror, circa 1890. This piece features a cartouche shaped mirror in a shaped frame with carved roundel and turned finial flanked by curved supports. Below the mirror are two aligned glove drawers with knapp or scallop-and-dowel construction (in use 1871-1900), keyholes, and wood knobs, which rest on the rectangular top of the dresser. The dresser offers three stacked drawers with knapp or scallop-and-dowel construction (in use 1871-1900), keyholes, and carved cup pulls. The piece rises on bracket feet joined by a scalloped apron. There are no visible maker’s marks.
