A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan area rug. This rug is hand-knotted in a palette of rich red, indigo,coral,beige,peach, and teal. It has a scalloped diamond shaped medallion with bell shaped pendants on a red heaxagonal lozenge with sawtooth edges. The field is patterned with cruciform shapes, lobbed flowers, and vasiform shapes to either end. The deep indigo colored spandrels have square shaped medallions in each corner as well as geometric symbolic designs. It is framed by borders of bracketed florets and running water patterns. It is finished with overcast selvedges and fringe to either end.
