A hand-knotted Yomut tribal long rug. This wool rug features a geometric design in a markedly abrashed palette of cranberry, black, peach, and pink/ivory with cerulean highlights. It begins with a complex lattice design incorporating hexagons, stars, ram’s horns, and geometric florets over a cranberry field. Framing the field are six unresolved borders, including meandering leaf and calyx and running dog patterns over cranberry or pink. Selvedges are triple overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short ivory wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
