18th Century Engravings From "Pamela; or, Virtue Rewarded" After Joseph Highmore

A pair of engravings on paper printed by Louis Truchy after original paintings by Joseph Highmore (British, 1743-1744). These engravings are from a series of twelve illustrations from the novel Pamela; or, Virtue Rewarded by Samuel Richardson, originally published in 1740, and the second edition published in 1762. Included are two engravings titled Pamela Greets Her Father and Pamela Preparing to Go Home. Both prints feature in-plate text in English and French along the bottom along with the original painter and engraver’s names. Both prints are housed in painted wooden frames under matboard and glass.
Condition
-Print and window mat are askew in one frame; discoloration to both prints; minor wear to both frames.
