Vintage Soviet Sledding Scene Lacquered Palekh Box

Item Details

A vintage palekh lacquered trinket box from the USSR. This rectangular box depicts a sledding scene in a rural Slavic landscape and is painted red to the interior. This box is signed, numbered, and titled in Cyrillic to the lower edge, and is dated 1989. It is marked “Made in USSR” to the verso. A vintage rent receipt in Cyrillic from the Management of Artistic Products and Toys Department of the Moscow City Administration is also included.
